Most Difficult Math Concepts in K-8

What are the most difficult math concepts for K-8 students to understand?

Students are expected to learn their state and/or national standards for math and be able to master them to have success in the following grade level. However, that is not always the case.

Math tends to be known as “new math” or deemed as “too difficult” along with other labels. It is not a language that many have mastered successfully. Now, we know there are various reasons for this, but that is not the focus of this particular post. The focus is on determining what those difficult concepts are and having strategies to effectively tackle them and help our students to understand better.

So please comment and share those difficult math concepts in K-8 so we can share strategies to help our struggling students. I will be posting videos on The Math Kingdom YouTube channel focusing on those specific, difficult math concepts.
